take a chill pill, raz!... it's a disco ball!

Wonderful, wonderful weekend, I must say.
Friday night, father and I went to Perry's Steakhouse for dinner, which was lovely. We talked about life, my future, etc, and how he grew up a poor black child. I think he was trying to teach me the value of a dollar...
Yesterday, I tutored Loustopher for a while... completing the square is awesome. And I brought him into the Nuni trap. If you haven't seen any Nuni skits on SNL, you are missing out. I showed him last week's, which Rainn Wilson hosted, and it is the funniest thing I've ever seen. I've watched it like 8 times now, and I laugh out loud just thinking about it. I guess it's hard to explain on a blog.

Later, Meagan came over, and we went to the store to buy some essentials for the nighttime get-together. Like always, we cut it pretty close, and got home only about 10 minutes before the first guest arrived. And so our breakfast for dinner party began. We made pancakes, waffles, Egg VicMuffins, and smoothies. But the best part was Tanner's life-changing eggs over easy. Seriously, my life was changed after I tried them. Granted the whole house smelled like bacon grease, but whatevs. Even Meagan liked them, and she doesn't like eggs AND she doesn't eat meat (they were fried in bacon grease. Sounds gross, I know)... she practically forced them down my throat. But anyway, props to Chef Tan!
Going along with tradition, we had Meagan's classic rap mix playing, and at one point, Erin, being all matronly, was making hashbrowns. But what disturbed people so much was that, while stirring the hashbrowns and looking like a sweet mom or something, she said some of the most explicit rap lyrics ever, as if it was no biggie. haha, it was very amusing.

After attempting to play Sardines in the neighborhood, but giving up after we couldn't find Erin and Chris, we decided to try out a little thing that I call the "Dark Game." What is that, you ask? Simple. Everyone goes into a dark room with the lights out, one person is "it" and leaves the room. He/she puts on a blindfold and then comes back in and tries to find people. It doesn't sound very fun, but trust me... it is. Ask anyone. The only thing about it that's
not fun when it's your turn to be it, and everyone LEAVES THE ROOM with out you knowing it. Yes, that happened to me. The greatest part was when it was Katie App512's turn to be it... she had so many things thrown at her (including pillows and a chair). Then, we all watched House of Wax. Apparently when Tanner's scared, he screams like a little girl. Good times, great times.

Pāx!

when everything feels like the movies, yeah you BLEED just to know you're alive

Remember that time when Meagan and I looked like we had just committed a murder? Okay, so yesterday in A & P, we were going over our blood study guide, when all of a sudden, I felt the cool, thin, trickle in my nose that let me know I was about to have a bloody nose. So I quickly put my hands over mi nariz, and ran over to the sink to grab some paper towels. Then, without any sympathy from Shonda, I went down to the bathroom, and when I threw away the very bloody paper towels, I looked at my hands, and they looked like I had just killed someone...
Now, Meagan's story:
Ironically, 1 minute after I came back from the bathroom, we started our little "prick your finger and squeeze the blood out to find your blood type" activity. Why I didn't just use my nose blood, I don't know. So, I opted out of the activity since I had had enough of blood for one day, and I already knew my blood type (A+, betch!). Anyway, we were all standing around one of the lab tables, Meagan across from me, and I was focusing more on the funny situation of a certain football player being afraid of a little needle. So, I looked up to see how Meagan was doing, and instead of neat little drops of blood being pushed out of her finger onto the test paper, she somehow managed to get blood
all over her hands, and not even enough blood on her little card. Don't ask me why.

After school, I started my new internship at World Fest, which is the company that puts on the international film festival here each year. My job is just office work, basically, so yesterday I had to start updating their database with tons of info for every newspaper in Houston and the surrounding areas. And no joke, I'm doing it on an old floppy disk database program from the 80s. You don't use a mouse, and you type in commands like, "find Friendswood Gazette". It took a while for me to get used to it. And I had to do it for like 2 and half hours so my back hurt really bad. But the people there are really nice, so it's all good!

Today was the choir TAPPS stuff. We did well... I think we got all 1s. "The Awakening" was totally B.A. After school, Katie and I went on an hour and a half long bike ride through the streets of our Memorial 'hood. It was so pretty outside! But when Katie wanted to throw her Smoothie King cup in someone's yard because she didn't want to hold it anymore, I said, "how would you feel if someone threw their trash in
your yard?!" and she responded with, "I wouldn't care! I'd get my maid to go out there and pick it up." Oh, Kates.

Goodbye for now!

This is just like the Academy Award winning movie Crash!

peace is just two fingers now, peace was just a phase

What a fun weekend (with some minor exceptions)! It's about to take a turn for the worse (worst?) though because of the English essay I have to write. Anyway...

Friday, I helped Lot Barefobs (Lou) with his Algebra II for like 3 hours, and then I went out with Katie. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Cheesecake Factory
. After that, we drove around for a while because we were bored and didn't want to go home. We gave up after like 40 minutes and just went back to her house and watched a little mixture of shows: Hannah Montana, Bam's Unholy Union (which I'm obsessed with now), and $40 A Day. Pretty successful.

Then on Saturday, I went to San Antonio to see the girls basketball g
ame with Abbie and her 'rents! I love the Palmers. They're so fun! We stopped at Buc-ees on the way, which is this huge gas station with everything you can imagine. I bought some sour worms, and Abbie bought about 2 cows worth of beef jerky. It was so good! We went to Chris Madrid's for lunch, which was life-changing. They had the best burgers ever! Then we went to the game... the girls lost :(. But then we went to the riverwalk, and Abbie and I discovered the Hear Music Starbucks Coffeehouse, and we were instantly in love. I can't explain what it is, so go online if you want to know. Well, I can explain what it is, but I don't want to. Anyway, I made a really cool/cute CD.

Then this morning, I woke up and went to Second Baptist, and then later I went to Katie's house and hung out with all of her Jewish family, and then we went for a bike ride. This only happened after much conflict between Katie and her parents on her having to wear a helmet. And before we left, her dad was li
ke, "do you want some water before you go?" and Katie was like, "NO" (she was mad about having to wear a helmet). And then he asked me, "do you want some flavored iced tea?" and I was like, "no thanks!" and he was like, "good. because we don't have any." haha, oh David Weinstein.

Okay, I just realized that this entry was more of an itinerary of my weekend, and it wasn't that funny. I'm really sorry...

Later.

"Why don't you just Google search it?"

I backed my car into a [white car] the other day...

...well, he just drove off, sometimes life's okay.

Let me explain. They've been putting up new light poles in the parking lots at school, and today at lunch when I was leaving to go to Sonic with Eddie, there was a little guy in a cherry-picker, putting one up, and his white va
n was parked perpendicular to my car, about, ehhh, 15 feet away. That was a really long sentence. Jealous? Anyway, I was aware that the van was there, but I still managed to back into it. I don't think the guy noticed... I mean, he was up in the light pole. So, I drove away, and he did the same soon after. This was like 10 hours ago, and I still haven't checked the back of my car to see if it's all good. Whatevs.

Today was pretty uneventful. It's Katie's 18th birthday, though! So, I woke up early and brought her donuts. Then school was really boring, except Anatomy was pretty fun. Meagan insists that I tell this little story. It's embarrassing for me, but I'll tell it. So, when we took our A & P field trip to St. Luke's a while ago, Craig, the blood bank man, told us that "blood feels like plastic." Well, today in Anatomy, I turned to Meagan and Leah, and I was like, "Ever since our field trip, I've really wanted to feel blood... Remember, the guy said it feels like plastic!" Apparently, I didn't ca
tch the little joke that the blood "feels like plastic" because the people who work at the blood bank only touch the plastic bags... they never touch the blood itself. You can imagine my embarrassment. As Meagan put it, "you're lucky you didn't say that in front of the class." But also, I have felt blood before... idiot moment.

I went to Katie's house tonight, and we went in her hot tub. After, we watched Juvies in her TV room, and her dad came in with a guitar and was like, "Katie, I wrote you a song for you birthday!" And she was like, "Cool... get out! We're watching Juvies!" But he sang it anyway, and it went something like,
Katie is a freak
She has freaky feet
They walk on the street
Oh, Katie is a freak
But the funny part was that after every "Katie is a freak," she would interject, "in the bedroom!" hahaha.

Guess what? I've made an impact on someone! Yes, Taylor Torregrossa said that I inspired her to write her own blog. How exciting!

Okay, I'm out.

"Bill! It's a good thing your other PhD is coming in handy."
"What's that?"
"Catching dead babies wrapped in the American flag."

I keep my mind on my money, money on my mind.

Okay, yeah, I realize that I've used these lyrics as a blog title before, but you know you like it. Who wouldn't love a song about shaking your money maker?!
Besides, this title fits in with the theme of this week in the lives of Meagan and Victoria. See, we realized that, in addition to being out of money, we've been spending too much of it on lunch, and we want to stop resorting to the credit cards. So, we decided to start packing our lunches. I started it off by making us both lunches on Monday and Tuesday. And, I'm not gonna lie, they were really good. I even included encouraging notes that said, "have a great day! xoxo" AND, yesterday, I cut Meagan's sandwich in the shape of a heart in honor of St. Valentine. Anyway, seeing that I had packed our lunches two days in a row, today was Meagan's turn. What did I get? I'll give you a visual...

3 1-inch Twix fun bars

1 Kashi Almond bar... I hate almonds.

A pack of cream cheese and chive crackers... sick!

and...

I know I sound really picky, but even Meagan admitted it was lame. Whatevs, it made me laugh!

I got to substitute for Anne Marie as a piano teacher again tonight. Little Kayla is so cute... she never talks! She just points at the music and mumbles. And, once again, the people at Texas Guitar Co. are so cool. I wish I could work there!
Now, I'm watching Grey's Anatomy (I don't know why)... it's a tearjerker. Speaking of anatomical things, today in Anatomy, we watched this video about a couple who got in a car accident and what happened to them, blah, blah, blah. So, when the doctor finally sewed up the hole in Laura's spleen and cleaned up all the blood that was spilling into her abdomen, a little voice-over came on and told us what was up...
He was like, "Within seconds, blood begins to flow back to Laura's brain." And amidst our celebrating, I heard little Meagan cry out, "YES! Victory in Jesus." It was really funny.

After school, I bribed that girl into going to Barnes and Noble with me where we enjoyed a nice after school snack. And then we visited Jonathan at Quiznos, which was sufficiently awkward. Haha, and on the way to T & C, Meagan was driving behind me, and I got to watch her in my rear view mirror singing along to "10 Days Late" by Third Eye Blind. If you haven't watched her sing that, you should.

Okay, I'm going to rest now. Today was really stressful-- I had to present my Bible project, take a Calculus test, and freak out about all those "J. Alfred Prufrock" questions. I'll leave you with a little T.S. Eliot...

"Would it have been worth while,
To have bitten off the matter with a smile,
To have squeezed the universe into a ball
To roll it toward some overwhelming question,
To say: 'I am Lazarus, come from the dead,
Come back to tell you all, I shall tell you all'
If one, settling a pillow by her head,
Should say: 'That is not what I meant at all,
That is not it, at all.'"

Hi. I'm John Stamos, and we're the cast of Full House. Say hi, Michelle... say hi, Gibler. "Hi... hi."

I'm bringing blogging back...

Wow. It's been over a month! Yikes. Sorry?
So, Anna Nicole died today... That's so sad. I bet she took too much TrimSpa. Okay, that's mean, but my money
is on her ODing on something. And on accident. I doubt she really wanted to leave little Danielynn all alone with two men fighting over who her real father is.

Anyway, today we had our ComServe day, but seniors stayed back in the chapel and had Senior Retreat Part II: Kyle's Revenge. I mean, he's a good speaker and gets straight to the point, but he was a little too harsh at times. But of course, Cody's band rocked. ESPECIALLY the drummer. He was so beautiful, and amazing at the drums (or "drumbs" as Meagan puts it). And thanks to the digital zoom on my dad's camera, I got some good pics of him [see below]. AND, thanks to Joe, I got his autograph! Haha. I wanted it, but I was too scared to ask for it, so Joe got one made out to Victoria. Isn't that sweet?! It's on my dresser mirror right now.

But besides the slightly discouraging seminars, the day was pretty fun. We got like an hour for lunch, so Haylee, Maren, Ryan, Greta, and I went to the mall. It was funny because there was this group of Asians (or "Azn's" as someone calls them) there who I'm pretty sure were on a tour of America. Can you imagine how funny that is? "Okay, next stop: Memorial City Mall for some authentic Chinese food at Manchu Wok!" They were buying their lunch there. But Manchu Wok
does have really good Chinese food.
And then when we arrived back at school, I discovered a PONTIAC BONNEVILLE parked in my parking spot. You can imagine how frustrated I was. And after much confusion from many people telling me that it was them who committed the crime, Meagan confessed that she did, in fact, drive Ben's car at lunch and park it in my spot as a joke. Just a little knock-knock. I didn't find it very funny until she explained her reasoning behind it. "I mean, I just thought it would make you laugh to come back and see a Bonneville parked in your spot!" Okay, she does have a point, I guess.

And now I have to study for my Bible and English tests AND do a bunch of Calculus. Fun! That's my cue...
Bye!
